Privacy Policy

Shamba+ is developed and operated by SaMTama ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data Shamba+ collects, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

Account information (via Google Sign-In). When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from Google, plus a short-lived authentication token used once to verify your identity with our backend. We do not receive your Google password. Google Sign-In is provided by Google LLC and is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Profile information you provide. Your first and last name, farm name, farm location (a free-text field you type in — Shamba+ does not access your device's GPS or location services), and your fiscal year start month.

Farm and financial records you enter. The core purpose of Shamba+ is tracking your farm's operations and finances. Data you enter includes: land parcels, plants/crops, seasons, harvests, revenue, costs and cost categories, farm inputs, animals and herds, herd activity records, infrastructure records, and general farm activities.

What we do not collect. Shamba+ does not request or collect your device's precise or approximate location, contacts, SMS/call logs, camera or microphone input, photos, or files. The app does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software of any kind.

How your data is used and shared

• Our servers. Your profile and farm data is stored on our backend, operated by SaMTama, to power the app's core functionality. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS); the app does not permit unencrypted connections in production.
• Google Sign-In. Used solely to authenticate you. We do not use it for advertising or share your sign-in data with any advertiser.
• No other third parties. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with analytics providers, ad networks, or data brokers, because Shamba+ does not integrate any.

Where your data lives

• On your device: your session token and a cached copy of your profile are stored using your operating system's encrypted secure storage.
• On our servers: your account and farm records, for as long as your account remains active.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:

1. Opening the app and going to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account, or
2. Visiting our account deletion page, or
3. Emailing ngigi.nyongo@gmail.com

We will delete your account and farm data within a reasonable time of a verified request, except where we're required to retain certain records by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact ngigi.nyongo@gmail.com.

Children's privacy

Shamba+ is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Signing in requires a qualifying Google Account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date above reflects the most recent version.
